FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. I have a question about cream makeup. Can I put a fluorescent makeup
cream over your product "HORROR FLESH?"
A. IF You wish to put a FLUO CREAM HORROR FLESH, you should use our
product ITEM #9451--GLOW IN THE DARK CREAM MAKEUP. It is a black light
product as well. IT COMES IN A 1Oz. TUBE and has a nice light consistency.
You could complete the HORROR FLESH MAKEUP, allow it to dry and then stipple
the FLUO CREAM over it.

Q. How much of your product "SCARY SKIN" comes with each kit? Would two
kits last me for a six-day shoot on one zombie? I am in the process of
starting a horror film and one of the characters need to have a face like
the one on the cover of the zombie kits that you have on your web-site?
A. I put my best makeup artist on the question. We sell an item called
"FAKE SKIN" #9504 which is on our web-site. It is pure latex. You would
need one zombie kit and a bottle of Fake skin for every day of the shoot.
That should do it. I hope this is helpful.
Q. Can I get two of your WEREWOLF makeup kits ( or is that not a big enough
order)?
A. Yes, you can place an order for 2 items. No order is too small

Q. I have seen your advertisement in the internet and I am very interested
to know more about your products for Ice and Blood. I am a makeup artist in
Dubai.
A. Thank ;you for your e-mail. We manufacture two very exciting items, one
is ICEFX makeup, which gives an instant frozen look (glamour or horror). It
comes in a Pro Kit. We also make a Blood FX kit, which has 6 different
blood products in one kit. It is a perfect item for makeup artists like
yourself. you can view these kits and other exciting products at
www.Silverrainstudio.com
After review of these products, if you have any questions, or need
assistance in application, please e-mail us. We are here to assist you.
Q. Can "FAKE SKIN" be used on any color skin?
A. Yes, you may use "FAKE SKIN" on any color skin. When dry, it will be
reasonably transparent. If you are using tissues, or toweling to make
wrinkles or aging effects, they need to be made after drying regardless of
the skin color and tone.
As far as effects go, each effect...aging, sores, bruises,
etc...requires different techniques and materials. Some require 3-D
materials, some are simply what is called "powder & paint" effects.
learning shadowing and highlighting and powder and paint application is the
best place to start. You simply add those skills to 3-D when you progress.
I highly recommend Richard Corson's "Stage Makeup" book. It is
considered the Bible of makeup artist training and is quite easy to follow
even if you have no experience. Videos are pretty useless unless you have a
working knowledge of techniques. The book can be a bit expensive, but worth
whatever you pay. Used copies are available through major online
booksellers. Good Luck.
Q. What do you have in makeup for aging? I am 50 years old, no wrinkles
and want to look 100 years old (natural, not spooky) for Halloween. Thanks
A. What you need is FAKE SKIN, which creates old age wrinkles, warts,
peeling skin, etc and a ZOMBIE makeup kit. I realize that the kit is for
horror but it has all the other necessary ingredients.
Q. Would it be possible to order products from you from the U.K.? If so,
how long would it take for the goods to arrive.
a. Yes, we do ship to the U.K. it takes about 7-10 days via regular mail.
Please let us know what you would like, shipping information is on the web
site. Some of our products are available in the U.K. at:
Screenface, Ltd.
20 Powis Terrace-Westbourne park Road
Notting Hill--London W11 1JH
020-7221-8289
020-7792-9357 (fax)
Q. I purchased the product, FAKE SKIN and have a question. With this
product, can I apply enough layers to stimulate someone getting their skin
bit off by a zombie? Just wondering since I am not a professional makeup
artist.
A. If you want to have a torn flesh effect, I recommend layering the liquid
on top of tissues, 2 ply Kleenex works great, separate the tissue layers,
brush liquid onto skin, lay 1 ply of tissue on top of liquid on skin.
Smoosh it around with your fingers if you want a wrinkled effect or have the
actor scrunch up the face while it dries. Then, after it sets, brush on
more liquid, more tissue, etc....build it up.
To make drying time go faster, use a flow dryer, set to COOL or COLD.
DO NOT USE WARM OR HOT AIR. It will burn and/or irritate the skin.
Then, after the wold thing is dry, apply the makeup on top. you should
be good to go after that.
Q. I see that your ZOMBIE makeup kit contains the white and black makeup
and fake blood, but the man on the picture has makeup on to make it look
like his skin is peeling off. Was this done with another makeup or can it
be achieved through the kit?
A. The kit also contains a product called SCARY SKIN which creates the
rotten flesh effect. This is applied over the makeup. The SCARY SKIN is
applied with a sponge. When dried, gently tear holes into the scary skin to
achieve the effect you want i.e. ragged flaps, etc.

Q. I was browsing your site and I saw a GLOW IN THE DARK LIPSTICK AND NAIL
POLISH. I also saw some makeup items that were a white cream color (as
stated on the item). Is thee any color to either the polish or the lipstick?
Could these items be worn in daylight or room/office light and not be
visible, and only glow under black light or in the dark?
A. We have three products that we think you are interested in, the GLOW in
the DARK lipstick, nail polish, and cream makeup. these items all glow in
the dark and under black light. The nail polish and lipstick are basically
clear and will give a white/greenish cast. The cream makeup is thicker and
has more of a whitish/green cast. Depending on the amount you apply.

Q. Just saw your site with the excellent range of producfts for my first up
and coming horror movie. I wondered if you ship to Belgium and how much
would it cost?
A. Thank you for looking at our products on SilverRainStudio.com. Besides
all of the makeup you need, we also have excess of hundreds of products,
including costumes. Just let us know what you need. make a list and we
will try to help you.
Shipping to Belgium, like all shipping is by weight. We have found the
cheapest way to ship is by our U,.S. regular Mail Service. It could cut the
cost of shipping to about 1/4 of the cost. The drawback is that it will
take a longer time (about 3 weeks) for the shipment to reach you. In order
to save money, you must place your order, well in advance. Once, we receive
an order, we can calculate the cost before the order is sent.

Q. I live in Taiwan. I wonder if I can order some products from your shop,
too? if it is o.k. how much is it going to be for shipping, and how long is
it going to take to send it here. Can you reply as soon as possible.
A. You can order directly from our web-site. It will calculate the
shipping charges for you and let you know how long it will take to receive.

Q. I was wondering how much surface area one ICEFX Pro Makeup kit could
cover. Also, what is the products durability? How long does it stay on?
Could it withstand 12 hours?
a. I would say that you can heavily apply ICEFX to face and hair
approximately six times. The crystals and powder have an indefinite shelf
life. The ICE GEL a water based product has a tendency to evaporate over
time. However, this can be rejuvenated by simply adding distilled water.
This product can withstand 12 hours on any product surface, as long as
water does not touch the ICEFX.
On humans, the length of time depends on the rate that this human would
sweat, as water or sweat will slowly dissolve the product. I hope this is
helpful.

Q. I am looking for a white eyebrow pencil for my Santa suit. Do you carry
them?
A. Sorry we do not. Most drug store chains carry them in their cosmetic
sections. Either a pencil or eye crayon would work. If all else fails, use
a little cream white makeup and a small pediatric toothbrush. Simply brush
the makeup into your brows.

Q. I would like to know if your GLOW IN THE DARK CREAM MAKEUP would work on
fabric. Will the cream makeup stay permanently on the fabric? I was trying
to do a solar system on cloth for my niece. I want to add many glow in the
dots of different sizes. I don't care for the stores pointed stars that
glow. I want circles and dots. I will use a paint brush to do the job.
All I need to know is will your glow in the dark cream makeup work on
fabric and how long does it last ? Will it wear off or smear?
A. The GLOW IN THE DARK MAKEUP is exactly what it is, a makeup to be used
on the face. it will wear off, flake off and washes off. However, you can
use it on cloth, but it is not meant to be used as a paint. It will not
last forever. Hope this is helpful

Q. Every year my brother dresses up like DRACULA for the kids in the area
where he lives. He looks very professional, however, the white makeup he
uses for his face does a number on his face and he really breaks out. I was
wondering if there is such a thing as a hypo-allergenic white makeup he
could use and do you carry it? I would appreciate any help you can give me
on this matter as he brings such fun to the kids and will continue to do it
even though he breaks out. I would like to help him. Thank you so much.
A. Yes, we do have a white cream makeup. The makeup is a hypo-allergenic
makeup. First of all, tell us what brand he is using, now. there are some
that come from the Orient and some that are manufactured in the U.S. If you
can find out the manufacturer of the makeup he is using, that could help us
to help you. There is also a product called the "Barrier Spray" that is put
on the face before any makeup is applied. This is what is used in the movie
industry for actors who have the same hyper-sensitivity. Before you get
into that, lets see if we can supply him with a simple cream makeup that we
have and won't irritate his skin.
Our congratulations to you as a concerned sister and our brother for
all of the joy an happiness he brings to his friends and neighbors.

Q. Thank you for talking with me this afternoon on the telephone about our
Easter program at church. We talked about the use of different types of
blood products that you have available. I need information about the best
way to apply the makeup so that it looks real.
I also need to know about what to use to make realistic bruises. This
is in regard to the beating and scourging of Jesus on the way to the
Crucifixion. Thank you for our help.
* * * *
A. No problem...we are always pleased to answer any questions and alleviate
concerns.
For bruising you need red and blue cream makeup. You will need a latex
makeup sponge. Start by applying dots of red makeup onto the skin and then
blend. Do not blend to one continuous tone, you want a spotty effect and
some areas heavier and more red while others are more pink. then add dots
of blue makeup right on top. Just blend it in spots...to create some blues
and some purples. Play with it and practice beforehand.
I do not recommend using purple makeup in lieu of the blending
instructions above. It is a continuous tone and looks like a huge purple
blotch. Remember, makeup should be fun and experimental.
As far as blood looking real..I strongly recommend the BLOODY SCAB
product that we carry. It is a paste, stays where it is put, has a vibrant
color and will set and dry. In addition, it may be applied very heavily to
create a scab or large scabbing area. Very impressive product....and VERY
easy to use.
For the 39 lashes, we spoke about the BLOOD POWDER product. Dusting it
onto the actor just before the lashing will allow the crowd actors to simply
(and gently hopefully) strike him with wetted strings, leaving a long red
gash.
You do have the option to soak the strings in LIQUID BLOOD, however it
tends to get very messy as the blood will fly off the strings while they are
being swung.
I recommend the LIQUID BLOOD for scourging though as you can use
stiffer items like a willow switch that has the blood on it and will leave a
blood track like a welt.
All of the blood products mentioned above are in our BLOOD FX
KIT....many if not all are also sold separately. the cream makeup is not in
the kit and must be ordered in addition to the blood products.
Good luck.
